Yes, VOLUME-ONE is based on LGPL license.

(4) Is VOLUME-ONE based on other software toolkits?

VOLUME-ONE is based on only two other library sets, which are OpenGL for 2D/3D graphics, and GTK+ for graphical user interface.

(5) How can I take part in the VOLUME-ONE develper group?

Currently, the group is being organized only in Tokyo.  Further electoric orginization is also going to be prepared.  Please wait for a while.

(6) How should I cite VOLUME-ONE

Published research, such as journal papers and presentation in congresses or meetings, supported by VOLUME-ONE may use (this is not obligation) a statement similar to the following in the materials and methods section "... visualization was performed by using the VOLUME-ONE software provided by the VOLUME-ONE developer group and available on the Internet (http://www.volume-one.org)".
 
(7) When do you open source codes?

We decided that open source is realized in LINUX version including other libraries used in VOLUME-ONE. Porting to LINUX environment is started in summer'04. We plan it will be in 2005.
